Air Conditioning Inspectors

Air Conditioning Inspectors accredited by CIBSE

The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections)(England and Wales) Regulations 2007 require inspection of all air conditioning systems with rated outputs over 12 kW at intervals not greater than 5 years. CIBSE Certification offers a low cost route of accreditation to join our industry respected Low Carbon Energy Assessor register of CIBSE accredited Air Conditioning Inspectors

What experience do I need?

At least two years’ full time experience of designing, installing or maintaining air conditioning systems within the last five years. The National Occupational Standard (NOS) states all areas of competency that are required. Training is available through CIBSE Professional Learning though if all competencies of the NOS are met such training is not required.

The methodology for carrying out air conditioning inspections in complex buildings is published within a CIBSE publication: TM44: Inspection of Air Conditioning Systems, and this therefore forms the basis of the training.

How much will becoming an accredited Air Conditioning Inspector cost me?

Training: £240 + VAT or £255 + VAT (non CIBSE member)*
Registration: £300 +VAT ( available on pro-rata quarterly)
Assessment: £300 +VAT
