Low Carbon Consultants Energy Management Systems Register for BS EN 16001:2009   

The new Low Carbon Consultants Energy Management Systems register will be specifically for those professionals who wish to be able to demonstrate that they have the specific competencies to enable them to implement a fully compliant and certifiable Energy Management System, meeting the requirements of BS EN 16001:2009 in either their own workplace or for others.

We envisage the LCC Energy Management Systems specialism to become highly valued and sought after given the need for companies to meet new and ever restrictive legislative requirements, ecological requirements and a demand for an ethical approach to the use of diminishing natural resources.To join the register you must demonstrate competence in BSEN16001:2009 through training and examination.

The training is in two parts:

1) A two-day technical course that covers the technical skills needed to support the planning, creation, and operation of an energy management strategy to BS EN 16001:2009. 

2) A three day management systems course that provides participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop and implement the energy management systems required to meet the requirements of BS EN 16001:2009.

The 5 day course will culminate in an examination testing both the technical and the management systems aspects of implementing a BS EN 16001:2009 compliant system.  

Those that have passed the CIBSE examination will be accepted onto the register. 

Applicants are strongly recommended to take the 5 day CIBSE BS EN 16001:2009 Energy Management training course, which covers the technical and management systems aspects of BS EN 16001:2009, before taking the examination. Alternatively applicants can also opt to attend either the 2 day technical or 3 day management systems separately but they must pass the course examination. 

Applicants can opt to take the examination without participating in any of the courses above, however the examination must be passed. Applicants should be aware elements of both the technical and management systems courses will be included to in the examination. 

As part of the course you will be given a valuable set of management system documents covering the requirements of EN 16001:2009.This course will be appropriate for those who have already completed a Low Carbon Consultant training course.

FeesIf you are already on the LCC register to add your Energy Management Systems qualification will only be an additional £50.00 + vat. For those new to the register the annual fee will be £130.00 + VAT.
